Edward "Ed" A. Brenot, also known as "Peanuts" or "Curly" age 69, of 22456 State Hwy. 77, Meadville, passed away Friday, June 30, 2017, at St. Vincent Health System, Erie.
Ed was born in Meadville, on December 5, 1947, a son of the late Edward L. and Jean (Hunter) Brenot.
On July 3, 1970 Ed married Nancy L. Calvin; she survives.
He was of the Roman Catholic faith.
After 38 years of service, Ed retired in 2007 from PPG Industries where he had been employed in the Service and Utilities Department. For the next three years he was employed by Poux Plastics, Inc., Cochranton. Following his 1965 graduation from Cochranton High School, Ed entered the US Navy where he served his country until his honorable until his discharge on October 31, 1969. Ed was a member of VFW Post #2006. He enjoyed hunting and tinkering around the house on various projects, especially his waterfall. His greatest joy was following the events of his grandchildren; he particularly enjoyed watching them play softball and baseball.
In addition to his wife, Nancy, of 46 years, Ed is survived by a daughter Wendy L. Ewing and her husband Michael of Cochranton, a son Ty E. Brenot and his wife Kelli of Meadville, five grandchildren Brandon and Katelyn Ewing, Madeleine, Irelynn and Josselyn Brenot, two sisters Betty Jean Rose and her husband Rick, Zita Sanner and her husband Paul, both of Cochranton, two brothers Robert Brenot and his wife Lucinda of Cochranton, Patrick Brenot and his wife Kyle of Meadville, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by a brother Michael Brenot.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, July 3, 2017, from 9-10 AM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM with Fr. Philip M. Oriole officiating.
Following Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006, Ed will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville, PA 16335 or a charity of the donor's choice.
