Edwin Raymond Grove

Edwin Raymond Grove, 81, of Guys Mills, passed away Monday, December 2, 2019, at St. Vincent Health System, Erie.

Edwin was born in Meadville, on February 13, 1938, a son of the late Howard E. and Mildred (Warner) Grove.

On May 29, 1959 Edwin married Carol R. Miller; she survives.

He was a member of Mount Hope United Methodist Church.

On February 28, 2000 Edwin retired as Second Shift Foreman of the Heat Treat Department of Channellock. He had previously been employed in the Spinning Department of the former Avtex Corporation. After retiring, his black lab pup, Raven, became part of his family and they were rarely apart from one another. In his younger years, Edwin enjoyed hunting as well as fishing and he always enjoyed keeping track of the birds and wild animals around his home. He was fond of working crossword puzzles and always kept one on hand to work on while waiting on Carol as he drove her around to do errands. His quiet demeanor will be missed.

In addition to his wife, Carol, of 60 years, Edwin is survived by four daughters Renee Jonas (Steve) of Saegertown, Lisa Hixenbaugh, Michelle Roha (Tim), Denise Pollard (Mike) all of Meadville, ten grandchildren Matthew Jonas, Jeremy Jonas, Adelle Hixenbaugh, Evan Hixenbaugh, Corey Hixenbaugh, Emmett Roha, Michael Pollard, Laura Pollard, Leah Pollard, Tommy Pollard, two great grandchildren Kayson Eley, Christian Hixenbaugh, a sister Joan Allen of Meadville, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Edwin was preceded in death by an infant son Ronald Grove and a son in law Dr. Thomas Hixenbaugh.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC.. 404 CHESTNUT ST. MEADVILLE, where Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 6, 2019, with Alice McClymonds, Pastor of Mount Hope United Methodist Church, officiating.

Edwin will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
