Eleanor Ann Petruso

Eleanor Ann Petruso, 84, of Meadville, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018, at Meadville Medical Center.

Eleanor was born in Meadville, on January 31, 1934, a daughter of the late Herbert and Anna (Patton) Capehart.

She had married Santo "Sandy" Petruso.

She had attended St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.

Eleanor attended Conneaut Lake High School and was a veteran of the US Air Force, Korean Conflict. In her younger years she had done modeling in the Erie and Youngstown areas with the late Flo Miller. Eleanor delighted in being a homemaker and raising her daughters. At home she could tackle anything that needed done, from fixing appliances to building anything. She was a gifted seamstress, wonderful cook, an excellent baker and she loved her sweets. Her creativity also came through in her gardening and ceramics. Her talents made the holidays magical. She had the ability to see beauty in all things, big and small. Eleanor loved following the events of her grandchildren. She was a strong inspiration to her children and grandchildren. They will never forget her whimsical sayings. She will always be remembered as a remarkable woman, wonderful mother and loving grandmother. She was beloved by her daughters and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Eleanor is survived by three daughters Cynthia A. Zylak, Kathleen M. Bouslough and her husband Arthur, both of Meadville, Robin E. Nickerson and her husband Douglas of East Amherst, NY, ten grandchildren Jordan Zylak, Jennifer Zylak, Kallista Holzerland, Joel Bouslough and his wife Andrea, Garrett Bouslough, Torri Bouslough, Christian Nickerson and his wife Jessica, Morgan Nickerson, Taylor Nickerson, Cade Nickerson, a sister Doris Shetler of Cochranton and a brother David Capehart of Conneaut Lake. She was a favorite aunt to many of her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by a daughter Christina Frances Petruso and a granddaughter Halley Elizabeth Zylak,

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 5-8 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST. MEADVILLE, where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:30 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 3, with Fr. Jeffrey Lucas, Pastor, officiating.

Eleanor will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
