Elizabeth M. Peters, 80, of 501 Forest St. Ext., Cambridge Springs, passed away Saturday, May 14th, 2011 at Meadville Medical Center.
Elizabeth was born in Cussewago Twp., on April 9, 1931, a daughter of the late Frank Eugene and Bernice (Babbitt) Alward.
On November 5, 1955 Elizabeth married Howard A. Peters; he survives.
She was a member of New Richmond United Methodist Church.
In 1992 Elizabeth retired from Penncrest School District where she had been employed as a custodian at Cambridge Springs Elementary School. She had previously been employed by the former San Rosarian Nursing Home, Home Restaurant and Riverside Restaurant. She was a lifetime member of Venango V.F.W. Post #169 Auxiliary. Elizabeth loved flower gardening, but what she loved most was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Howard of 55 years, Elizabeth is survived by three children Steven O. Peters and his wife Tammy of Cambridge Springs, Eugenia M. Warrick and her husband Rick of Meadville, Gale E. Petty and her husband Paul of Cambridge Springs, six grandchildren Eric Peters, Stephanie Hummel, Howard Pulling, Elizabeth Pulling, Tonya Sample, Jason Petty, six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by a sister Doris Clair, four brothers Leonard, Theodore, James and Herbert Alward.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 330 Broad St., Saegertown, where Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 18th, 2011, with Pastor Jeff Bobin of New Richmond United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will take place in Venango Cemetery.
