Erik N. Holmberg

Erik N. Holmberg, 40, of Meadville, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2019, at home.

Erik was born in Meadville, on January 10, 1979, a son of Susan L. (Pierce) and the late David A. Holmberg.

A 1997 graduate of Meadville High School, Erik also attended Hocking College in Nelsonville, OH. He had lived in New York City where he was employed as a Sales Rep. On the morning of September 11, 2001, while on his way to work in Manhattan, Erik learned of the first terrorist attack that took place. As a result his place of employment was leveled. For the next nine years Erik lived in the State College area and worked at Strawberry Fields as a care giver for disabled adults. He went on to earn his LPN Degree and worked as a wound care nurse at Wesbury for five years. Erik most recently was employed as the general manager of Dominos Pizza in Greenville, something he very much enjoyed. Erik was a huge fan of the Miami Dolphins and of the Rock Band Phish, having attended several of their concerts. He had a passion for playing disc golf and designing disc golf courses. He enjoyed designing as well as playing and working at the Woodcock course and had recently finished designing the course at the Meadville Rec Complex.

In addition to his mother Susan Holmberg of Meadville, Erik is survived by a brother Paul, his maternal grandmother Helen Pierce both of Meadville, his aunts and uncles Diann Mailliard (William) of Guys Mills, David Pierce (Toni) of Meadville, Kevin Pierce of Greenville, Gary (Elaine) Holmberg of Annadale, VA, Donald Holmberg (Nancy) of Youngsville, Christina Holmberg of Richmond, VA, his step mother Pamela Holmberg of Lakewood, NY, step sisters Susan Yocum (Keith), Lisa Landford (Ben) both of Celoron, NY, step brother Jason Darling (Dena) of Savannah, GA, many aunts, uncles, cousins and a great network of loyal friends, some being lifetime friends.

In addition to his father, David Holmberg, Erik was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Norman Pierce, his paternal grandparents LeRoy and Ruth Holmberg, three uncles Daniel Pierce, Keith Pierce and Paul Holmberg.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, from 5-7 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.
