Ernestine "Ernie" M. Engelhardt

Ernestine "Ernie" M. Engelhardt, 87, of 571 Chestnut St., Apt. 5A, Meadville, formerly of 11130 Charles St., Meadville, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Meadville Medical Center.

Ernie was born in Meadville, on December 7, 1929, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Carvella) Magnacca.

On September 16, 1950 Ernie married George H. Engelhardt; he survives.

She was an active member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church where she had served as an usher and on the Care and Concern Committee.

A full time homemaker, Ernie enjoyed raising her family. In her earlier years she had been employed by the former Talon, Inc. and the former American Viscose Corp., both of Meadville She was an avid bowler as well as a junior bowler instructor. She also enjoyed golfing.

In addition to her husband George of 66 years, Ernie is survived by three children Bruce Engelhardt and his wife Shirley of Columbus, OH, Carol Hughes and her husband Donald of Meadville, George J. Engelhardt and his wife Lori of Colorado Springs, CO, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three sisters Philomena Consiglio of Las Vegas, NV, Eleanor Potts and her husband Ray of Meadville, Marian Killingsworth and her husband Gene of Columbus, OH, a brother Ralph Magnacca and his wife Gloria of Palm Springs, CA, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ernie was preceded in death by two sisters Ernestine Magnacca, Frances Harmon and a half brother Dominic Magnacca.

Family and friends are invited to call from 5-8 PM on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where a scripture service will be conducted at 7:30 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, with Fr. Tom Trocchio, Parochial Vicar, officiating.

Entombment will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
