Esther C. Kingston

Esther C. Kingston, 98, of Meadville, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Mentor Ridge Nursing Home, Mentor, OH.

Esther was born in Meadville, March 14, 1926, the youngest daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Salerno) Cervone. 

On April 7, 1951, Esther married the late Ray Kinsgston. 

She was a member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, Meadville, where she did extensive volunteer work in her earlier life. She also did volunteer work for the West Mead II Volunteer Fire Department. Esther worked as a secretary for 35 years for the American Viscose Corporation. Her hobbies included gardening, golfing, bowling, fishing, especially ice fishing, crocheting, ceramics and entering items into the Crawford County Fair. She enjoyed going to the casinos, taking cruises and extensive traveling, having visited all 50 states as well as Mexico, Canada and several European countries. 

Esther is survived by many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her husband Ray, an infant son Clayton Ray Kingston, a sister and three brothers.

Esther will be remembered as a kind and generous soul with a beautiful smile and loving words for everyone she met. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Wesbury United Methodist Community, Mentor Ridge Nursing Home, Bella Care Hospice and Comfort Keepers for all they did for Esther.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church, 7575 Bellflower Rd., Mentor, OH with Fr. Alex Clark, Parochial Vicar, officiating. 

A Committal Service will be held at 1:30 on Monday, March 3, 2025, at the Chapel of St. Brigid Cemetery, Williamson Rd., Meadville, with Fr. Jeff Lucas officiating.
