Eugene L. Hoffman

Eugene L. Hoffman, 78, of Meadow Drive, Saegertown, peacefully passed away Friday, November 9, 2018, with family.

Eugene was born in Punxsutawney on March 25, 1940 and grew up in Coolsprings, PA. He was the son of the late Lee and Icie (Hinderliter) Hoffman.

He had been married to Linda Stokes-Milller and Rose Marie Brzezinski.

Eugene graduated from Punxsutawney High School and was very proud of his Native American heritage.

In 2005, Eugene retired as a Cement Mason with J.C. Lee Construction. In the years past he worked his trade with the late Ott Powell and Elvin Walker. He was a life member of Saegertown Sportsmen Club. An avid outdoors man, Eugene enjoyed archery, trapping, hunting and fishing. For many years he volunteered with the Youth Festival at Linesville Sports Club teaching the young the skills of archery, hunting and fishing.

Fountain House Park was his home for 40 years, where he thought of his neighbors as family and enjoyed watching their children grow. Eugene had many close friends (Buddies) that he also thought of as family.

Eugene is survived by six children Eugene L. Hoffman Jr. (Tamara) of Colorado, Steven F. Hoffman of Centerville, Kathleen D. Griffin (Jim) of Meadville, John Hoffman, Laura Hoffman both of Conneaut Lake, Suetta Hoffman (Rodney) of Linesville; twelve grandchildren Shannon, Anjennae, Gabrielle (Gabby), Stephanie, Alexandra, Kellie, Ashley, Samantha, Haylee, Beth, Ryan, Annaliese; five great grandchildren Lincoln, Madelynnae, Ethan, Madison, Mason with another on the way, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by an infant daughter and a brother Melvin Hoffman.

Family and Friends are invited to a Casual Celebration of Life which will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2018, from 1-4 PM, at Meadville Field Archers, 15400-15598 Inlet Rd, Conneautville, PA 16406.

Memorial contributions may be made to Meadville Field Archers Youth Program in honor of Eugene Hoffman, at 15497 Inlet Rd, P.O. Box 212, Harmonsburg, PA 16422.
