Ezekiel Range, 56, of 282 Meadow St., Meadville, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010 , at Meadville Medical Center.
Ezekiel was born in Albany, GA on June 11, 1953, a son of Mattie Mae (Redick) Range and the late Jessie L. Range.
On April 14, 1978 Ezekiel married Sueannette Manning; she survives.
He was an active member of St. Johns Full Gospel Missionary Baptist Church, Meadville, where he sang in the church choir and served as Chairman of the Deacon Board for 11 years.
Ezekiel was employed by PennDOT since 1986. A graduate of Monroe High School in Albany, GA, Ezekiel went on to further his education by graduating from Edinboro University with a BS degree in Speech and Communications and a minor in photography. A veteran of the US Army, Ezekiel served his country from March 3, 1975 until his honorable discharge on September 30, 1981 where he had attained the rank of Specialist Four. He was a 32nd Degree member of the Giblim Masonic Lodge, Red House. Ezekiel enjoyed barbecuing. He loved to read his Bible, was very devoted to his church and his Lord.
In addition to his wife Sueannette of 32 years, Ezekiel is survived by three children Paul Manning and his wife Jill, Gretchen Watkins both of Meadville, Melvin E. Range of Albany, GA, six grandchildren Jeremiah Hunter, Jazzmere Nelson both of Meadville, Mitchell Parker of Ft. Bragg, NC, Jillian Parker of Meadville, Jayla Day, Jay Day both of Columbus, OH, two sisters Cassandra Willis of Albany, GA, Cynthia Mitchell of Atlanta, GA, two brothers Jessie Range, Jr., Timothy Range both of Albany, GA, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his father, Jessie L. Range, Sr., Ezekiel was preceded in death by a brother Jeffrey Range.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 3-6 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, PA 16335.
A Homecoming Service will be conducted at St. Johns Full Gospel Missionary Baptist Church, 792 N. Main St., Meadville, at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 3, 2010, with Bishop Stanley K. Smith, Pastor, officiating.
Interment with Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006, will take place in Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
