Felix F. Kedzierski, Jr., 69, of 340 Willow St., Meadville, passed away Thursday, June 27th, 2013 at Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, following a brief illness.
Felix was born in Elmira, NY on July 22, 1943, a son of the late Felix F. and Alice C. (Glass) Kedzierski, Sr.
He was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church. Until his health began failing, he attended daily Mass and would drive the elderly to weekday Mass.
After 25 years of service, Felix retired from the US Navy as a meteorologist. He entered the US Navy on October 31, 1961 and served his country until his honorable discharge on September 30, 1988. Felix was very proud of his service time. He loved the American Flag and all that it stood for. He took great pride in the Flag and pole standing in his yard. Following his retirement, he was employed by Radio Shack. Felix was a 1960 graduate of Langley High School, Pittsburgh and a member of VFW Post #2006. In his earlier years, he enjoyed golfing. Felix was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. He also enjoyed watching basketball and Turner Classic movies. He enjoyed collecting eagles and would spend hours looking through catalogs for any kind of new gadget. Felix will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Felix is survived by a sister Mary Ann Getchell of Meadville, two brothers Michael Kedzierski and his wife Karlyn of Saegertown, Bill Kedzierski of Meadville, many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many very special and close friends including June Furno and John Mottillo, both of Meadville.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 10-11 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, at 11:30 AM with Fr. Marc Solomon, Pastor of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, officiating.
Entombment with Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006, will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
