Frances J. Pasikoski, 87, of 590 Walnut St., Meadville, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.
Frances was born in Meadville on December 19, 1923, a daughter of the late Frank and Sophie (Gawrys) Maziarz.
On June 30, 1945 Frances married Joseph A. Pasikoski at St. Brigid Church; he preceded her in death on September 13, 2007.
She was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, Meadville, where she was active with the Altar Rosary Society.
Frances was a devoted homemaker all of her life. In her earlier years she was employed by Plant #5 of the former Talon, Inc. and East End Elementary School, both of Meadville. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Columbia #2. Frances loved being around children, traveling, antiquing, cooking and attending musical events. She also enjoyed fishing trips to Canada with her husband, Joseph, and family.
Frances is survived by a daughter Mary Jo Widmann and her husband Howard of Shaker Heights, OH, three grandchildren Heather Leedy and her husband Dr. Jason E. Leedy, MD, of Pepper Pike, OH, Matt Widmann and his wife Sara of Derby, NY, Rachel Pasikoski of Meadville, seven great grandchildren Jason Leedy, Jr., Luke Howard Leedy, Maxwell Marvin Leedy, Brooke Christine Leedy, Wesley Howard Widmann, Allison Elizabeth Widmann, Leela Beth Widmann, a brother Stephen Maziarz and his wife Margie of Saegertown, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband Joseph of 65 years, Frances was preceded in death by three children Christine A. Klinginsmith, Kathie S. Pasikoski, Joseph J. Pasikoski, three sisters Bertha Eiseman, Cecilia Tkach, Genevieve Rose, two brothers Edward Maziarz and Chester Maziarz.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 3-7 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a Catholic Daughters of the Americas service will be conducted and a scripture service will be conducted at 6:30 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 13, 2011, with Fr. Mark OHern, Pastor of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church and Fr. Ray Gramata, Pastor of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, officiating.
Interment will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
