Frances Mae (Barco) Sigsbee

Frances Mae (Barco) Sigsbee, 97, of 8445 Franklin Pike, Meadville, passed away Saturday, July 31st, 2010 at Meadville Medical Center.
Frances was born in Meadville on December 15, 1912, a daughter of the late James P. and Leonarda (Battaglia) Barco.
In 1945 Frances married Herbert Ralph Sigsbee; he preceded her in death in 1975.
She was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.
After more than 35 years of service, Frances retired in 1975 from Crawford Central School District where she taught at both Second District and Neason Hill Elementary Schools. A graduate of Meadville High School, Frances went on to further her education by graduating from Allegheny College. She was a member of PSEA. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, crocheting, gardening, reading and participating in Stamp Club. She enjoyed nature, especially trees. Frances will be remembered for her deep love of family.
Frances is survived by a son H. James Sigsbee of Miami, FL, a daughter Connie Sigsbee Ingalls and her husband Gerald R. of Erie, three grandchildren Elizabeth Ingalls Rodney and her husband Matthew of Hoboken, NJ, William Sigsbee and his wife Holly of Lakeland, FL, James R. Sigsbee and his wife Kim of Marietta, GA, two great grandchildren Grant Sigsbee, Natalie Sigsbee, a sister Josephine A. Barco of Meadville, five nieces and nephews Lee Jamison, James Barco both of Meadville, Patricia Barco of NYC, NY, Robert Gooden of Meadville, Beverly Ladd of Deerfield Beach, FL, several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband Herbert of 30 years, Frances was preceded in death by a son Robert J. Sigsbee who died in 2003, a sister Mary J. Barco, three brothers George W., Patrick J., and Joseph G. Barco.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, PA 16335 where a scripture service will be conducted at 8:30 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 4th, 2010 with Fr. Mark OHern, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
