Franklin "Frank" A. Gregor, Jr., 65, of Meadville, passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 25, 2020, at home.
Franklin was born in Cleveland, OH, on January 25, 1955, a son of Florence (Bumbulis) and the late Franklin A. Gregor, Sr.
On August 22, 1998 Frank married Debbie Whitesell Smith; she survives. He had previously been married to Charlene Furno.
Frank was a 1972 graduate of Meadville Senior High School. In his earlier years, Frank was employed by the former Abex, Wise Snacks and had owned and operated Patterson Candies. For the past 22 years Frank was employed by Frito Lay, having retired in January, 2020. During this time, he became known as the "Frito Man" as he would often be seen in all the grocery stores stocking the shelves and always had a big smile on his face. Frank was definitely a people person, and had a way of making everyone feel special. He enjoyed collecting sports cards but he was arguably the world's greatest Pittsburgh Steelers fan as he couldn't get enough of their games or collectables and his man cave epitomized the black and gold. Frank loved time spent with family and he will be deeply missed.
In addition to his wife, Debbie, of 22 years, Frank is survived by four children Marc Gregor (fiance' Stephanie Rinella) of Meadville, Kristoffer Gregor (Elizabeth) of San Antonio, TX, Colleen McAnlis (Brian) of New Galilee, Jessica Smith of Meadville; twelve grandchildren Alex, Andrew, Chelsea, Randie, Ethan, Tucker, Savana, Adam, Masyn, Jackson, Avery, Brady; three great grandchildren Ace, Cabela, Kynlee; his mother Florence Gregor of Conneautville; three brothers Joseph Gregor (fiance' Deann Michaelson), Kenneth Gregor (fiance' Debbie), John Gregor (Liz) all of Meadville; two sisters Debbie Ann Nies of Pittsburgh, Laura Miller (R.J.) of Conneautville; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Frank was preceded in death by a son Geoffrey Gregor and a brother Paul Gregor.
Due to Covid, a Memorial Service will be held at a future date, which will be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Frank's memory to Seton Catholic School, 353 Pine St., Meadville, PA 16335 or Ben Roethlisber Foundation which seeks to support police and fire departments throughout the US, with a particular emphasis on support for K-9 Units and Service Dogs.
