Gary Lee Gisewhite

Gary Lee Gisewhite, 72, of Meadville, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Crawford County Care Center. 

Gary was born in Meadville, on July 24, 1952, a son of the late Merle and Elizabeth (Sproul) Gisewhite.

He was a member of The Epiphany of the Lord Parish, St. Agatha Church, Meadville.

Gary was a 1970 graduate of Meadville High school. While still attending school, Gary started to work for the Meadville Public Library where he had a 47 year career. Gary was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan and was a big collector of science fiction, horror, super hero and James Bond movies, over the years collecting hundreds of his favorite episodes. While growing up he was a collector of comic books. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Pinochle. Gary's family meant the world to him and he was happiest when he was with them. 

Gary is survived by his siblings Sharon M. Tolbert (Jamie) of Meadville, Ellie Pongratz (Companion Gary Field) of Crofton, MD, Lisa Donahue (Sean), Merle Gisewhite, Jr. both of Meadville, six nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Gary was preceded in death by a nephew Brian Gisewhite.

Family and friends are invited to call from 4 - 6 PM on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where a funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM with Fr. Jeffrey Lucas, Pastor, officiating.

Gary will be laid to rest with his parents in St. Agatha Cemetery.
