George L. Kebert

George L. Kebert, 62, of 6224 Kebert Rd., Meadville, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014, at Meadville Medical Center.

George was born at the former Spencer Hospital in Meadville, on October 18, 1952, a son of the late Floyd L. and Regina 'Jean' A. (Staudt) Kebert.

George was a self-employed farmer, something he very much enjoyed doing. Previously he was employed by 5-M. A 1970 graduate of Meadville High School, George was also a 1974 graduate of Penn State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in General Agriculture. He had served on the St. Johns Cemetery Board where he volunteered his time maintaining the cemetery grounds and in his younger years was a member of St. Johns Church. George also served as a Union Township Supervisor.

George is survived by two sisters Kathryn Kebert of Meadville, Joyce Kebert of Grove City, two brothers David Kebert, Floyd E. Kebert and his wife Laurie both of Meadville, four nieces and nephews Matthew King and his wife Rebecca, Samantha Kebert, Adam Kebert, Hannah Kebert, great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at St. Johns Cemetery, Union Twp.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.
