Gladness F. Slingluff, 76, of 10850 Beuchat Rd., Guys Mills, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013 at home.
Gladness was born in Meadville, on December 16, 1936, a daughter of the late Martin R. and Faye (Miller) Rickert.
On March 26, 1955, Gladness married Joe A. Slingluff; he preceded her in death on January 31, 2013.
Gladness enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her family. A talented quilt maker, she had made quilts for Special Olympics and many of her quilts were sent to China as well as other parts of the world. She was a lifetime member of Randolph Volunteer Fire Department.
Gladness is survived by six children Wanita L. Welsh of Guys Mills, Jean M. Spieker and her husband Gary of Grove City, Richard L. Slingluff of Guys Mills, Joe M. Slingluff and his wife Brenda of Berlin, Noreen A. Howell and her husband Donald of Alpharetta, GA, Claude A. Slingluff of Townville, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a sister Charlotte Newhard and her husband Daniel of Meadville, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Joe, of 57 years, Gladness was preceded in death by two sisters Oletha Davis and Barbara Dennis.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of family.
