Gladys Marie Copeland

Gladys Marie Copeland, 85, of Saegertown, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Meadville Medical Center.

Gladys was born in Tarentum, on May 12, 1937, a daughter of the late Lafayette and Isabelle (Montgomery) Dunn.

On October 25, 1958 Gladys married Prentice V. Copeland, Jr.; he survives.

She was a member of United Methodist Women and of Saegertown United Methodist Church where she was involved with the Prayer Circle and served as Chairperson for the Bereavement Dinner Committee. In her earlier years she volunteered as a Sunday School Teacher at the Free Methodist Church.

Gladys had been employed as a Nurse's Aide at the former Spencer Hospital. Prior to her marriage she worked at Western Mill in Falconer, NY. For many years, Gladys was a member of TOPS and Crime Stoppers. She volunteered countless hours with RSVP, the gift shop at Wesbury, Crawford County Quality Care Center Auxiliary and Cordia Commons.

In addition to her husband, Prentice, of 64 years, Gladys is survived by three sons David Copeland (companion Linda) of Williamsburg, VA, Ryan Copeland of Corapolis, Wayne Copeland of Cambridge Springs; three grandchildren Amy, Brandi, Nathan; four step grandchildren Brian, Marcus, Ashlee, Nicholas; four step great grandchild Matthew, Kylie, Caelyn and Liam; siblings Marilyn Johnson of Clearwater, FL, Ronald Dunn (Ann) of Falconer, NY, James Dunn (Jean) of Gerry, NY; nieces and nephews.

Gladys was predeceased by two brothers Henry and infant William.

Visitation is Monday, February 13, 2023, from 1-3 and 6-8 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday with Pastor Jeff Little of Saegertown United Methodist Church officiating.

Gladys will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
