Mr. Glenn D. Miller, 88, of 339 E. Jamestown Road, Greenville, formerly of 8841 Oak Drive, Meadville, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016 at St. Pauls, Greenville.
Glenn was born in Franklin on March 22, 1928, the son of the late Horace and Mary (Fletcher) Miller.
On September 5, 1949 Glenn married June Bedell; she survives.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Meadville.
Having had a 49 year career in the grocery retail business, Glenn retired from the Country Fair in 1993 after 6 years of service with them. He had previously been employed by Golden Dawn Foods for 11 years and by the former A & P Grocery for 31 years. A veteran of the US Army, Glenn served his country during WW II from 1946 until 1949 and then again during the Korean Conflict from 1950 until his honorable discharge in 1952. He attended Franklin High School. Glenn was a former Assistant Fire Chief for West Mead I Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Alaska, line dancing and teaching line dancing. In his earlier years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife June of 67 years, Glenn is survived by a daughter Glenda Tickerhoof of Lake Milton, OH, a son Scott Miller and his wife Julie of Greenville, five grandchildren Steven Tickerhoof and his wife Brenda, Daniel Tickerhoof, Christine Whiteleather and her husband Reed, Kory Miller, Kara Miller, eight great grandchildren Tiffani, Caleb, Maria, Taylor, Alisha, Steven Jr., Stephanie and Jezerea.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by a granddaughter Rebecka Tickerhoof, a brother Herbert Miller, four sisters Lena Miller, Margaret Long, Jean Lightner, Mary June Coast and a son-in-law Lloyd Tickerhoof.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM at Anderson Fellowship Hall at St. Paul's, 339 E. Jamestown Rd., Greenville on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 with Chaplain. Julia Fraser, officiating.
Glenn will be laid to rest in Butler County Memorial Park, Butler.
