Guida Florence Thompson, 93, of 9108 State Hwy 198, Conneautville, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Rolling Fields Eldercare Community.
Guida was born at home on the farm in Hartfield, NY, on November 22, 1921, a daughter of the late Frederick and Gena (Alber) Marty.
On June 22, 1946, Guida married Willard Wesley Thompson; he preceded her in death on January 5, 2000.
Guida was a devoted and exceptional homemaker. Her love and devotion to her family, especially her sons, Thomas and Eric, will not be forgotten. Before her marriage to Willard, Guida was employed as a counter waitress at a diner in Westfield, NY and had worked as an machinist at General Electric of Erie. It was there that she met Willard. She moved to Louisville, KY in June of 1956 where she resided until 2003 when moving back to Conneaut Lake to live with her son, Tom.
Guida is survived by two sons Thomas Thompson and his fiancee' Rosemary Alice McCrillis of Conneaut Lake, Eric Thompson of Louisville, KY, three grandsons Bryan Scott Thompson, Eric Bradley Thompson and Adam Nicholas Thompson.
In addition to her parents and her husband Willard of 53 years, Guida was preceded in death by a brother Julian Marty.
At the family's request there will be no visitation.
A Memorial Service will be held in Mayville, NY at a later date.
Guida will be laid to rest next to her husband, Willard, in Evergreen Cemetery, Louisville, KY.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.
