Harold "Eugene" Lenhart

Harold "Eugene" Lenhart, 85, of Saegertown, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown.

Eugene was born in Saegertown, on August 22, 1931, a son of the late Harold Elmer and Ellen (Newman) Lenhart.

On April 14, 1951 Eugene married Mae Wetsell; she survives.

Eugene retired from Pasco Tool and Die and had previously been employed by Starn Tool and Mfg. A veteran, Eugene enlisted in the US Army on November 28, 1952 and served his country honorably until his discharge on March 31, 1955. He was a 1949 graduate of Saegertown High School. In his younger years, he was a member of Saegertown Volunteer Fire Department and then remained an active social member. Eugene loved being outdoors. He especially loved taking care of his nine acres of property. Be it on his John Deere or his Kubota tractor, he managed to mow his property any and every day that the weather allowed. He will be deeply missed.

In addition to his wife, Mae, of 66 years, Eugene is survived by three children Diane Priestes of Erie, Gerry E. Lenhart, Brian D. Lenhart and his wife Irene both of Saegertown, six grandchildren Andrew Priestes (Jenny), Adam Priestes (Laken Wiltanger), Mackenzie Lenhart, Mollie Lenhart, Brianne Lenhart, Lindsay Lenhart, two great grandchildren Noah Priestes, Luke Priestes, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by a son Allen Scott Lenhart, four sisters Louise, Eileen, Jeanette, Sally and a brother Richard.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, May 24, from 4-6 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 330 BROAD STREET, SAEGERTOWN.

Private funeral services and private burial will be held at Venango Cemetery.
