Harold 'Junior' R. Baer, 73, of 21912 N. Mosiertown Rd., Saegertown, passed away Friday, August 5th, 2011 home.
Harold was born in Mosiertown on August 3, 1938, a son of the late Harold W. and Laura Leah (White) Baer.
In 1969 Harold married Marie Arlene Yarnell; she survives.
He was a member of Carmel Baptist Church, Mosiertown.
For over 40 years Harold was a self-employed contractor where he had many customers in the Meadville and Saegertown areas, including Lord Corp. In his earlier years he had been employed by Hughson Chemical (later known as Lord Corp.) While attending school he was employed by the United Methodist Home where he worked for a few years following his graduation from Cambridge Springs High School. He was one of the last classes to attended elementary school in Mosiertown. Harold loved antiques, classic cars, following stock car racing, gardening and spending time with Joseph and Amy Kay, the children of Carl and Mary Kay DeWoody. Harold had an especially kind heart for young people and was a strong supporter of 4-H.
Harold is survived by his dear friends Carl and Mary Kay DeWoody and their children Joseph and Amy Kay, nieces, nephews and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2-6 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 330 Broad St., Saegertown, PA 16433.
Funeral Services will be held at Carmel Baptist Church, 21659 N. Mosiertown Road, Saegertown, at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 8th, 2011, with Pastor Sherman Skeens officiating.
Interment will take place in Reichel Cemetery, Mosiertown.
