Harriet "Rose" Brown

Harriet "Rose" Brown, 87, of 17527 Maple Dr., Saegertown, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Meadville Medical Center.

Rose was born at home in Hayfield Township., on January 28, 1931, a daughter of the late Austin Oland and Bernice (Huber) Cole.

On November 28, 1949 Rose married Wayne J. Brown; he preceded her in death on September 24, 1989.

Rose loved being a homemaker and raising her family. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she also provided child care for many neighborhood children. She enjoyed cooking and helping out on the family farm. Rose attended Hayfield schools. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren; she especially enjoyed attending the county fairs with them. She was loved by many and will be sadly missed.

Rose is survived by six children Linda Check and her husband Donald of Cochranton, Kathleen Brown of Saegertown, Lila Fischbach and her husband Patrick of Henderson, TN, Dwayne Brown and his wife Sarah of Decatur, AL, twins Robert Brown and his wife Jenny, Ronald Brown and his wife Betsy both of Saegertown, fifteen grandchildren Elizabeth Godfrey, Phillip Godfrey, Shannon Check, Daniel Check, Stephanie Check, Timothy Check, Dr. Jason W. Brown, Dylan Fischbach, Rebecca Manuel, Amanda Urey, Wyatt Brown, Austin Brown, Aaron Brown, Kimberly Knight, Nicole Lang, twelve great grandchildren, two sisters Charlotte Jobe and her husband Wayne of Meadville, Ida Cole of Saegertown, a brother Harold Cole and his wife Betty of Meadville, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Wayne, Rose was preceded in death by a daughter Carolyn Godfrey, two brothers Frank Cole and Leon Cole.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 330 BROAD ST., SAEGERTOWN, where Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 4th, with Rev. Jeffrey Conley, Pastor of Meadville Alliance Church, officiating.

Rose will be laid to rest next to her husband, Wayne, in Venango Cemetery.
