Ida Lynne "Lynny" Manus, 63, of 41 Buell Dr., Apt. A, Rochester, NY, formerly of Meadville, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017, at Leo Center for Caring at St. Ann's Community, Rochester, NY.
Ida was born in Meadville, on November 12, 1953, a daughter of Gladys L. (Singleton) Johnson and the late Wilson "Hoot" Johnson, Jr.
While living in Meadville, Ida was a member of St. John Missionary Full Gospel Baptist Church, where she was baptized.
Ida was employed as Senior Program Administrator for Rochester Area Community Foundation for 24 years. She was a graduate of Meadville High School. She enjoyed making jewelry. She loved having talks with her family and friends and delighted in time spent with them, especially her grandchildren. Her fun loving spirit will be greatly missed.
Ida survived by two children Terae D. Singleton of Meadville, Damon D. Hunter of Rochester, NY, eight grandchildren Brianna, Rachel, Rahim, Valerie, Damon Jr., DeAndre, Shamar, Kiara, four great grandchildren, RaKyia, Brinyah, Josiah, Brooklyn, her mother Gladys L. Johnson of Meadville, her sister Sheri L. Singleton of Rochester, NY, her brother Ronnie O. Johnson and his wife Mary of Sebring, FL, Otisa Law of Franklin who was like a daughter to her and whom she helped raise for a number of years, a near and dear friend who is considered to be family Joyce Rodriguez of Rochester, NY, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In addition to her father,Wilson "Hoot" Johnson, Jr., Ida was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Getdins Singleton, maternal grandmother Ida Singleton, her maternal second grandmother Rose M. Singleton, her paternal grandparents Wilson and Ellen Johnson, Sr.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, from 12-1 PM at St. John Missionary Full Gospel Baptist Church, 792 N. Main Street, Meadville, where a Going Home Service will be held at 1:00 PM with Bishop Stanley K. Smith, Pastor, officiating and childhood friend Beverly McClure Williams also participating.
Ida will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.
