Irene Picerno

Irene Picerno, 78, of 17817 Cussewago Rd., Meadville, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Maquette Hospice House, Meadville, surrounded by her family.

Irene was born in Meadville, on November 9, 1938, a daughter of the late Marian and Irene Pazdziorko Krolikowski.

On November 4, 1961 Irene married Dominic A. Picerno; he preceded her in death on March 17, 1974.

She was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.

Growing up in Meadville, Irene attended the former St. Brigid School and later moved to Bridgeton, NJ, where she met her husband. While living there she was employed by Owens-Illinios Glass Factory for 16 years. After her return to Meadville in 1974, she had been employed by Spectrum Control, Warren Industries, the former Sandalini's Restaurant and the former Ricci's Restaurant. She participated in Silver Sneakers Program and was a member of a bowling league at both Plaza Lanes and the Eagles Club. She was admired for her creative and resourceful mind. She enjoyed doing Picture puzzles, baking and canning. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

Irene is survived by a daughter Donna L. Quindardo of Loris, SC, a son Dominic A. Picerno, Jr. and his wife Mary Frances of Freeburg, six grandchildren Donald D. Quindardo, Anthony J. Quindardo, Dayna M. Quindardo and her fiance Dale, Angelo D. Picerno, Jennifer M. Picerno, Dominic A Picerno III, three sisters Bertha Palicia and her husband Pete of Willowick, OH, Louise Effert and her husband Jerry of Palm Beach Garden, FL, Linda Dunn and her husband Jim of Michigan Town, IN, two brothers Paul Krolikowski and his wife Tyna of Conneaut Lake, Joseph Krolikowski and his wife Lena of Palm Coast, FL, her companion of over 30 years Earl Deramo of Meadville, several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday from 11:30-1:30 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST. MEADVILLE.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 PM on Saturday at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, with Fr. Jeffrey Lucas, Pastor, officiating.

Irene will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
