Isolene (Issy) E. Capell

A joyous reunion was held in heaven for Isolene E. (Issy) Nelson Capell, born September 30, 1918 to Edwin R. & Esther Johnson Nelson in Erie, and died September 17, 2010 at Meadville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She previously resided at Niagara Village, Erie.
Issy was a proud alumna of East High School and married Edward Capell on November 14, 1942. Her working career covered many years at the Hill Mill, Bliley Electric Co., Henry Shenk Co., and LCBA. Issy enjoyed knitting, weekends in Tidioute, traveling with her family, reading, The Lawrence Welk Show and was a former member of VASA Order of America - SVEA No. 296, B.P.W., and Calvary Evangelical Church.
She is survived by her beloved son, Barry and daughter-in-law, Debra, of Saegertown, her dear 'big little' sister and best friend, Mercedes E. Nelson of Erie, her brothers Edwin R. Nelson, Jr. (Rosemary) of Erie and William Nelson of Waterford, sister-in-laws Marjorie Nelson, Nancy Herzog (Bob) of Erie and 'Bobbie' Nelson of Charlotte, NC, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Capell on 10/17/79, her brothers Clarence, James Robert, V. Richard, Jeffrey, Dr. Kenneth Nelson, and sister, Hazel Smith (Paul).
Issys cheerful spirit and bright outlook on life will be treasured by all who knew her. Her greeting of 'I love you dearly, a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck' will be greatly missed by all she loved.
Private services will be held by the family under the care of Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.
Internment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Erie.
