James L. Alexander, 76, of Meadville went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 4, 2021. He lost his courageous battle with cancer after fighting it for several years.
He was born October 6, 1944, in Meadville, a son of the late Francis L. and Doris L. (Fitzgerald) Alexander.
He married Patricia Groshner on July 26, 1968; she survives.
He was a registered tool and die maker, having worked at various tool shops, retiring from Standard Precision in September, 2009. He had a great love for children and animals and was known as the "candy man" at many of the churches he attended. He loved people and could easily carry on a conversation with friends or complete strangers. He was an avid reader.
In addition to his wife, Pat, of 53 years, Jim is survived by two daughters Kris Duffy (Pete) of Anchorage, AK, April Metzgar (David) of Meadville; six grandchildren Drake Duffy (Jillian), Keagan Duffy, Todd Tirums, Logan Tirums (Summer States), Allison Duffy, and Tyler Duffy.
