Meadville

James "Jim" Shelledy, 62, of Meadville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at UPMC Hamot, with family at his side.

Jim was born in Thousand Oaks, CA on March 28, 1962, the youngest of five children (Peggy, Les, Pat, and John) to Leslie and Vera Shelledy.

A graduate of Thousand Oaks High School, Jim went on and became a diligent worker for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) for the last 30 years.  Jim was known for being a hard worker his entire life.  While growing up in California, Jim spent much of his time water skiing on his beloved boat, the Scumbucket. He was also a dedicated car enthusiast who loved his 1989 convertible mustang. Jim enjoyed treasure hunting with his cousin, Cody Copeland, on beach vacations.

Jim had a passion for life and his family, it was this same enthusiasm that made him a leukemia and bone marrow transplant survivor since 1986.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn Furno Shelledy, his daughter Lindsay Edmondson and her husband Bryce Edmondson.

A Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00:00 on Friday, May 31, 2024, at The Epiphany of the Lord Parish, St. Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, with Fr. Kyle Seyler, Parochial Vicar, officiating.
