James "Jim" W. Dobos, 74, of Meadville, passed away Monday, February 27, 2023, at home.
Jim was born in Bluefield, WV, on November 3, 1948, a son of the late Laszlo Luke and Ethel Maxine (Gammon) Dobos.
On November 9, 2019, Jim married Loretta Woolstrum; she survives. He had previously been married to Alice Dobos until her death on June 23, 2015.
He was a long time member of Pleasantview Alliance Church where he had played in the Worship Band.
Jim graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from LeTourneau College, Longview, TX. He had 35 years of employment at PA Tool and Gage retiring August 2019. His favorite job was driving school bus until November 2021. Jim was a talented musician who enjoyed playing many instruments including the electric base and violin.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his children Alan Dobos (Shayna) of Meadville, Christopher Dobos (Ayana) of Pittsburgh, Timothy Dobos (Robyn) of Mill Hall, Stephen Dobos of Williamsport, Esther Amaya (Walter) of Washington, DC, Ruth Dobos of New Portland, ME; step children Lisa Woolstrum of Greensboro, NC, Christine Nunn (Trent) of Cambridge Springs, Karen Woolstrum (Marco) of Pittsburgh; 13 grandchildren Ayree, Anneliese, Edwin, Karla, Grove, Ezekiel, Leonidas, Xavier, Kalina, Grayson, Tristan, Cadence, Griffin; brothers Kenneth of Centerville, GA, Carl of Meadville, Michael of Springville, IA, Mark of Gettysburg, Robert of Lincoln, NE, Harry of Franklin Square, NY, Gordon of Mt. Joy; 26 nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 3-5 PM on Friday, March 3, 2023, at Pleasantview Alliance Church, 16233 Hwy. 86, Saegertown, where Funeral Services will follow at 5 PM with Pastor Mike McAdams officiating.
Jim will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
