James Michael Russo

James Michael Russo, 63, of 633 Madison Ave., Meadville, passed away Wednesday, September 26th, 2012, at Meadville Medical Center, following a courageous ten month battle with cancer.
James was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 30, 1948, a son of the late Armando and Mary C. Russo.
On October 30, 1987 James married Sarah Seeley; she survives.
James was employed by Leech Carbide, Meadville, for more than 25 years. He had previously been employed for many years, as Manager of the former Sandilinis Restaurant, now known as Chovys. A 1971 graduate of Michigan State University, James excelled in hockey for which he earned a college scholarship. Following his college graduation he remained a devoted fan of not only the Michigan State Spartans but also the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Lions. He enjoyed bowling and was a softball umpire at the Lincoln Ave. Complex. An avid sports enthusiast, James possessed a keen knowledge of sports trivia and was well known for it throughout the Meadville area.
In addition to his wife, Sarah Seeley-Russo, of 24 years, James is survived by five siblings Cathryn Shuart, Charles Russo and his wife Linda, Clifford Russo and his wife Karen, Peter Russo all of Michigan, Mary Jo Koeller and her husband Dan of North Carolina, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Armando and Mary Russo.
At the familys request there will be no visitation.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
