James "Randy" Randall Samples

James "Randy" Randall Samples, 67, of Meadville, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at home.

Randy was born in Erie, on August 22nd, 1957, a son of the late James and Erdine (Ard) Samples.

He was a member of French Creek Community Church, Meadville.

Randy was a graduate of Girard High School. He had been employed as a driver by Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority. Randy volunteered his time with his church food pantry, and helping whomever he had a chance to. He was an avid reader and especially enjoyed reading Westerns. 

Randy is survived by three children Sheery Brookshire (Brian) of Goose Creek, SC, Ben Samples, Anita Samples, both of Meadville; two grandchildren Ashlyn and Jacob Brookshire; siblings Barbara Diehl (Alan) of Girard, John Samples (Debbie ) of Fairview; his former spouse Sue Stein of Meadville; several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by a sister Jeanie Samples Burnett and a nephew Michael Samples. 

Family and friends are invited to call from 4-6 PM on Friday, January 3, 2025, at French Creek Community Church, 18320 Conneaut Lake Rd., Meadville, with the Service following at 6 PM with Pastor Jamey Huselton officiating.

Randy will be laid to rest in Francis Cemetery in Girard, PA.
