James W. Liggett, Sr.

James W. Liggett, Sr., 78, of 10696 Ban Dr., Unit 9, Conneaut Lake, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Meadville Medical Center.

James was born in Brownsville, on March 31, 1938, a son of the late James W. and Ethel (Henry) Liggett.

On August 13, 1955 James married Elsie Murdock; she survives.

Over the years James had been employed by the former Meadville Malleable and Dunn Construction Company. He loved being outdoors especially cutting fire wood, hunting and fishing. An avid Shuffle Board player, he was on a team at Butch's Pub. His greatest joy of all was spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed.

In addition to his wife Elsie of 60 years, James is survived by five children Mary Ann Dennis and her husband Rex, Rhonda Emig and her husband James, Larry Liggett, David Liggett, James W. Liggett, Jr., all of Meadville, seven grandchildren Brittany Emig and her fiance' Charlie Riddle, Jason Emig, Justin Emig, Brooke Emig, Jessica Dennis, Megan Dennis-Lewis and her husband Jerry, all of Meadville, Bethany Liggett and her fiance' Derick Watt of Sandy Lake, four great grandchildren Matthew and Mason Watt of Sandy Lake, Dylan Polk, Makayla Lewis both of Meadville, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a son Greggory James Liggett, three sisters Ethel Jean, Viola, Delores and a brother Bob.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday from 11-1 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 330 Broad Street, Saegertown, where Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Mark Villars of Gospel Tabernacle Church officiating.

James will be laid to rest in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
