Jan Lea Beck

Jan Lea Beck, 57, of Meadville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 1, 2024, surrounded by her family, following an eight-year battle with cancer. 

Jan was born in Clarksburg, WV, on September 29, 1966, a daughter of Catherine "Dee" (Post) and the late James J. Taylor.

On October 6, 1990, Jan married Daniel Lee Beck; he survives. 

She attended Trinity Global Methodist Church of Conneaut Lake.

Following her 1985 graduation from Meadville High School, Jan went on to West Liberty State College, West Liberty, WV, where she earned her Dental Hygienist Certification. Jan went on to complete a successful 34 year career in the dental office of Dr. Jack Storey and Dr. Matthew Daley, where she loved caring for all of her patients. Jan enjoyed being out in the sunshine, boating, the pool, Disney, watching her kids dance and play hockey, West Virginia football, and spending time with her family and friends. She loved her family deeply and spoiling them came all too easy for her. She will be most remembered for her kind and caring ways. Jan was loved by all and will be sadly missed.

In addition to her husband Dan of 33 years, Jan is survived by three children Alyssa Cole (Andrew) of Erie, Taylor "TJ" Beck (fiance Chloe Egli), Connor Beck both of Meadville; her first and much anticipated granddaughter expected in December; and her mother Dee Taylor of Meadville; as well as many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her father, James J. Taylor; grandparents Ernest and Garnet Taylor and grandmother Hildred Simmons.

Jan family would like to share a special thank you to the Gynecologic Oncology Department of Cleveland Clinic for all of their compassionate care throughout her entire cancer journey.

Family and friends are invited to call from 4-7 PM on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, with Kevin Hughes, close family friend, officiating.

Jan will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery.
