Jane Louise Richards

Jane Louise Richards, 61, of 788 Chestnut St., Meadville, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014, at home.

Jane was born in Haverford, on September 5, 1952, a daughter of Mae and the late Richard Montz.

On June 21, 1975 Jane married Dr. Gregory L. Richards; he survives.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Meadville.

In 1974 she graduated from Allegheny College with a Bachelors Degree in Education. She was a member of the Allegheny Alumni Association. As her daughters were growing up, she volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader, for their school libraries, and with her dog Dixie as a PAWS Therapy Assistant. Jane enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and spending time with her dog, Spud.

In addition to her husband Dr. Gregory L. Richards of Meadville, Jane is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Stephens and her husband David of Orlando, FL, twins Megan Alves and her husband Jim of Cleveland, OH, Christine Richards of Philadelphia, and her mother Mae Montz of Elizabethtown, PA.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Montz.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 3 - 6 PM at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., at 404 Chestnut St., Meadville. Funeral services will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 21, 2014, with Rev. Dr. Brian Jensen, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
