Jeanette Elaine Baer

Jeanette Elaine Baer, 76, of 14172 Pont Rd., Springboro, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at UPMC-Hamot Medical Center, Erie.

Jeanette was born at home in Jumbo Woods, on January 3, 1940, a daughter of the late Anson and Irene E. (Gollmer) Thornton, Sr.

On May 16, 1959 Jeanette married Levern R. Baer; he survives.

For more than 30 years Jeanette had worked as a waitress at various restaurants in Crawford and Erie Counties. She was a graduate of East Springfield High School. Jeanette enjoyed making and painting ceramics, especially wildlife, holiday and early American pieces. Her mastery of dry brush painting resulted in very life-like and detailed work. Jeanette also enjoyed traveling and had participated in 52 Anderson Bus Tours. Her other interests included bird watching and camping.

In addition to her husband, Levern, of 57 years, Jeanette is survived by three sons Dennis C. Baer and his wife Debora of Cussewago Twp., Steven D. Baer and his wife Laurie of Cambridge Twp., Jeffrey S. Baer of Edinboro, a daughter in law Nancy Ivey of Newport News, VA, ten grandchildren Jessica, Michael, Anthony, Alex, Stephanie, Ashley, Lucinda, Amanda, Alyssa, Ryan, ten great grandchildren, a brother Anson Thornton, Jr. of Sharon, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by a son Max W. Baer, two sisters Pearline Carr, Janice Williams and a brother Billy Thornton.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 330 Broad St., Saegertown, where Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 2nd, with Rev. James Culbertson of Morrill, ME officiating.

Jeanette will be laid to rest in Venango Cemetery.
