Jennie A. Costa

Jennie A. Costa, 95, of 537 Beers Ave., Meadville, passed away at Meadville Medical Center on Sunday, November 27th, 2011, which would have been her late husband, Franks, 99th birthday.
Jennie was born in Meadville on January 10, 1916, a daughter of the late Vincent and Catherine (Vicari) Amato.
On February 14, 1939 Jennie married Frank N. Costa; he preceded her in death on February 25, 2011.
She was a member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society.
Jennie enjoyed house cleaning, golfing and playing cards. Before retiring from Heatrex, she worked at the former Talon, Inc. of Meadville, as a crossing guard for Crawford Central School District and as a cafeteria worker for Allegheny College. She was a lifetime member of the Italian Civic Club. Jennie will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Jennie is survived by a son Guy Costa and his wife Mary Ann, two daughters Betty Longo, Shirley Callan and her husband Bryan, seven grandchildren Guy Costa, Jr. and his wife Dawn, Bryan Costa and his wife Brenda, Chuc Longo and his wife Tabitha, Lenee Dixon and her husband Jack, Jason Longo and his wife Jamie, Kristina Callan, Bradley Callan, ten great grandchildren Michael and Matt Costa, Joseph and Christopher Costa, Jordanna and Dominick Longo, Shea and Talia Dixon, Cambrie and Carlie Longo, four sisters-in-law Jenny Costa, Kathy Costa, Rose Page, Ann Amato, one brother-in-law Tom Costa, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband Frank of 72 years, Jennie was preceded in death by a son-in-law Charles Chuc' Longo, a sister Rose Amato Galle, three brothers Sylvester, John and Sam Amato.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 3-8 at Stephen P Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a scripture service will be conducted at 4:00.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 1st, 2011, with Fr. Marc Solomon, Pastor, officiating.
Entombment will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, PA 16335.
