Joan Grace Baiera

Joan Grace Baiera, 92, of 11093 Cervone Drive, Meadville, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at UPMC-Hamot, Erie.

Joan was born in Meadville, on November 17, 1925, the daughter of the late Frank and Lena (Trozzi) Mangino.

She was a lifetime member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, Meadville, where she volunteered her time with many church activities. She was also a member of the Altar Rosary Society.

After 35 years of service, Joan retired from the former Talon, Inc. where she worked as a processing inspector. Long after her retirement she enjoyed attending the Talon Retirees Luncheons. She was a graduate of Meadville High School and a member of the Italian Civic Club Auxiliary. Joan loved to cook as well as bake and will be remembered as a person who fully enjoyed life and deeply loved her family.

Joan is survived by two daughters Maria E. Kolin and her husband John of Adrian, MI, Deborah Baiera and her companion Richard Seaman of Erie, four grandchildren Brian Kolin, Lanee' Harris, Bradley Baiera, Joseph McLaughlin, six great grandchildren, four sisters Angie Mangino of Meadville, Betty Bailey and her husband Donald of FL, Terry Guzzo and her husband John of Dubois, Rose Frisina and her husband Anthony of Meadville, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by a son Joseph Baiera, two brothers Michael Mangino, Ralph Mangino, three sisters Florence Wildrick, Louise Surano and Josephine Cervone.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, March 6, from 2-6 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, with a Scripture Service at 5:30.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, with Fr. Tom Trocchio, Parochial Vicar, officiating.

Joan will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery.
