Joanne V. Wilkinson

Joanne V. Wilkinson, of Saegertown, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at home.

Joanne was born in Rural Valley, a daughter of the late Floyd and Carrie (Snyder) Wensel.

On August 16, 1959, Joanne married the love of her life, Henry Wilkinson; he preceded her in death on March 1, 2019.

After 25 years of service, Joanne retired from the PA Employment Office, Meadville. She was a 1954 graduate of Shannock-Valley Senior High School and obtained her Cosmetology license in 1962. A lifetime member of VFW Post #2006 Auxiliary, Joanne was also a member of American Legion Post #205. Her hobbies included golfing, gardening, and she loved dancing with her husband. No matter what Joanne was doing, she did it with class and was dressed to the nines. She was an amazing woman who unknowingly, was a role model to her family and others. Her greatest joy in her life was her family. She cherished every moment spent with them and her friends. She especially loved cooking for family gatherings. Her kindness and selfless ways impacted many, as she treated everyone like family. Her love, guidance and unwavering strength will be forever missed.

She leaves behind a son Mark Wilkinson; a daughter Pamela Potts; grandchildren Stefan Potts (Lora), Zachary Wilkinson, Haley Wilkinson; great grandchildren Ivy Potts, A'more Williams; siblings Leona Casselman, Marvin Wensel (Clara); many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her loving husband, Henry, of 60 years, Joanne was preceded in death by a beloved granddaughter Rachael Potts.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Blooming Valley Cemetery, Saegertown, with Rev. Dr. Daniel Corll of First Presbyterian Church officiating.
