Joe A. Slingluff

Joe A. Slingluff, 78, of 10850 Beuchat Rd. Guys Mills, passed away Thursday, January 31st, 2013 at Meadville Medical Center.
Joe was born in Meadville on January 10, 1935, a son of the late Claude A. and Ethel L. (Heffern) Slingluff.
On March 26, 1955 Joe married Gladness F. Rickert; she survives.
Joe was an independent truck driver. He had also driven for Quality Carriers and Matlock Tank Line. He had previously been employed by the former W.L. Dunn Construction Company. Joe enjoyed attending steam engine shows. He loved to camp anywhere within the United States but especially in the Tionesta area.
In addition to his wife, Gladness, of 57 years Joe is survived by six children Wanita L. Welsh of Guys Mills, Jean M. Speiker and her husband Gary of Grove City, Richard L. Slingluff of Guys Mills, Joe M. Slingluff and his wife Brenda of Berlin, Noreen A. Howell and her husband Donald of Alpharetta, GA, Claude A. Slingluff of Townville, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters Claude Patterson, Alton Slingluff, Audean Mangus, Eileen Bowersox, twins Ronald and Donald Slingluff and infant Louisa Slingluff.
Services will be private at held at the convenience of the family.
