John Daniel Twiford

John Daniel Twiford, 50, of Saegertown, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019, at home, surrounded by his family.

John was born in Meadville on July 27, 1969, a son of Linda (Filegar) and the late Daniel Twiford.

On September 12, 1998 John married Tamatha "Tammy" Brooks; she survives.

A 1987 graduate of Maplewood High School, John attended IUP. For a period of 12 years he worked as a corrections officers at Crawford County Correctional Facility. He retired from AFSCME (American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees) as Union Organizer and Staff Representative.

In addition to his wife, Tammy of 21 years, John is survived by his two beautiful daughters that made him proud in so many ways Melanie Twiford, Hillary Twiford both at home, his mother Linda Twiford of Saegertown, a sister Amber L. Ryder (Craig) of Austin, TX and his union brothers and sisters as well many friends that were considered to be family.

John will always be remembered for his vast array of knowledge, his quick sense of humor, his love of family and friends as well as his dedication to the labor movement. His commitment to the union cause will carry on.

Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, December 29, 2019, from 4-7 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 330 BROAD STREET, SAEGERTOWN.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, at New Richmond United Methodist Church, 29776 PA-77, Guys Mills, with Pastor Harry Zurasky officiating.

Memorial Contributions may be made in John's memory to Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
