John H. Kardos

John H. Kardos, 82, of Meadville, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023, at Embassy of Park Avenue, Meadville.

John was born in Chalfant, on August 30, 1940, a son of the late John and Freida (Doczkat) Kardos.

On September 25, 1961 John married Joan Helen Whitehead; she preceded him in death on July 30, 2020.

Following his graduation from Turtle Creek High School, John went on to work for Yocca’s Arco Gas Station, Baierl Chevrolet, and later Ace Demolition. John and Joan moved to Meadville in 1998, where they both enjoyed the slower pace. He will be sadly missed.

John is survived by four children Amy (Bruce) Airgood of Ormond Beach, FL, David (Lottie) Kardos of Lovettsville, VA, Gregory Kardos of Conneaut Lake, PA, and Alisa (Mary) Kardos of Charles Town, WV; seven grandchildren Bryan (Maggie) Kardos, Eric Kardos, Peyton Kardos, William (Courtney) Airgood, Laura (Rob) Humbert, Tyler Jackson, and Isabelle Jackson; and two great grandchildren Hailey Kardos and Bruce Airgood.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, July 10, 2023, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 12, with Rev. Jeff Conley officiating.
