John Joseph Mcmahon Iv

John Joseph McMahon IV, 64, of 21804 Kyla Dr., Saegertown, passed away Wednesday, April 25th, 2012 at UPMC-Hamot Medical Center, Erie.
John was born in Pittsburgh on June 8, 1947, a son of the late John Joseph and Florence (Sweet) McMahon III.
On May 22, 1971 John married Elaine Hoffman; she survives.
He was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, Meadville, where he served on the church Finance Committee.
John was a 1965 graduate of North Catholic High School, Pittsburgh. He went on to graduate in 1971 from Point Park College, Pittsburgh, with a degree in Accounting. In 1977 John and his family moved to Meadville where he worked for the former E.E. Latourette Accounting Firm. Two years later he purchased that firm which, over the years, developed into, what is now known as McMahon & Associates, PC. A supporter of his community, John served on the Board of Directors of Meadville Medical Center. He had also served as a member and President of the Board of Big Brothers and Sisters, The Rotary Club and The Country Club. John was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. His hobbies included golfing and wine making. He won the 'Best in Show' Award at Conneaut Wine Cellars for his homemade champagne. John enjoyed baking, especially Italian bread, as well as cooking, especially Italian Cuisine. He was very comfortable and enjoyed working in his kitchen.
In addition to his wife, Elaine, of 40 years, John is survived by a daughter Kelly Colleen McMahon of Seattle, WA, a son John J. McMahon V of Boston, MA, a sister Patti McMahon of Wexford, a brother Larry McMahon and his wife Diane of Atkinson, NH, two nieces Jamie, Katie and a nephew Michael.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by an aunt, Elizabeth Sweet and an uncle, Anthony Sweet.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 28th, 2012 with Fr. Mark OHern officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Seton Catholic School, 385 Pine St., Meadville, PA 16335.
