Jon E. Fowler

Jon E. Fowler, 67, of 505 Jefferson St., Meadville, formerly of 426 Euclid Ave.., Saegertown, passed away Thursday, September 2nd, 2010 at Meadville Medical Center.
Jon was born in Meadville on October 12, 1942, a son of the late George and Gladys (Hills) Fowler.
On July 17, 1965 Jon married Katherine E. Szmyd; she survives.
He was affiliated with Saegertown United Methodist Church.
On July 25, 2003 Jon retired from PennDOT after 30 years of service. A US Army veteran, Jon served his country from July 31, 1963 until his honorable discharge on June 13, 1966. He was a graduate of the former Townville High School, a member of La Societe Des 40 Hommes Et 8 Chevaux and a member of the Saegertown American Legion Post #205. Following his retirement Jon enjoyed staying active, especially with his morning coffee runs with his friends.
In addition to his wife Katherine of 45 years, Jon is survived by a daughter Lona Huffman and her husband Kerry of Pittsburgh, two sons Timothy S. Fowler of Saegertown, Clinton D. Fowler of Phoenix, AZ, two grandchildren Alex Huffman, Rachel Hufffman, a brother Don Fowler and his wife Harriet of Ballston Lake, NY, two nieces and a nephew.
In addition to his parents, Jon was preceded in death by a son Michael Fowler, a brother Wayne Fowler and a brother-in-law Walter L. Szmyd.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 330 Broad St., Saegertown, PA 16433 where the Saegertown American Legion Post # will conduct a service at 7:00 PM.
Funeral Services with Full Military Honors will be held at Stephen P Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 330 Broad St., Saegertown, at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, with Rev. Kenneth Custer, Pastor of Saegertown United Methodist Church, officiating.
