Jordan Edwin Shaffer

Jordan Edwin Shaffer, 15, of 15771 Limber Rd., Meadville, passed away Sunday, October 14th, 2012 at home.
Jordan was born in Landstuhl, Germany on November 5, 1996, a son of Robert 'Bob' E. and Rita F. (Jordan) Shaffer.
He was a member of Saegertown United Methodist Church where he was also a member of the youth group.
A sophomore at Saegertown High School, Jordan was a member of the Spanish Club and had been a member of the Cross Country team. He enjoyed helping others and for the past two summers volunteered at the VA Medical Center in Erie and while visiting family in North Carolina, assisted young people at Soccer Camp. Jordan also enjoyed being an active member of the Civil Air Patrol #503 Squadron, Meadville Airport. He had aspirations of joining the Air Force. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and bowling.
In addition to his parents Bob and Rita Shaffer of Saegertown, Jordan is survived by two brothers Kenny King, his wife Stacey and their children Toren, Cyrus, and Mia of Vermont, Jared Shaffer at home, paternal grandparents Edwin and Joyce Shaffer of Saegertown, aunts and uncles Mark and Sandy Peters of Saegertown who were also his Godparents, Rose Smith, Robert and Sherri Jordan, Peebles Braswell, several cousins Matt and Ryan Peters, Jason and John Shearin, Eric and Alan Jordan, Amanda Boggs and her family, Becky and Brandon Carroll and her family, and Jessica Braswell.
Jordan was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Annelore (Meme) Jordan Hoggard and his maternal grandfather Ralph Jordan.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 4-7 at Saegertown United Methodist Church, 620 Euclid Ave., Saegertown, where a Memorial Service will be held at 7 PM with Rev. Darrell L. Greenawalt, Pastor, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Civil Air Patrol C/O Captain Steve Peters, Meadville Airport, 16306 Corporate Dr., Meadville, PA 16335.
