Joseph F. Nolen, Jr., 74, of 21 W. 9th St., Apt. 308, Erie, PA, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018, at home.
Joseph was born in Meadville, on February 16, 1943, a son of the late Joseph F. and Lorraine (McMaster) Nolen.
Joseph had been employed as a grinder at Erie Malleable. A Vietnam Veteran, Joseph entered the US Army on October 31, 1962 and served his country honorably until his discharge on November 2, 1965. He was a 1961 graduate of Meadville High School. Joseph enjoyed following the Cleveland Browns as well as the Cleveland Indians. His sense of humor was always apparent. Joseph will be remembered as one who enjoyed life.
Joseph is survived by a brother Fred L. Nolen and his wife Pat of Chester, VA, nieces and nephews Kimberly Nolen, Gretchen Watkins, Kea Nolen, Shawntae Fletcher and her husband Marcus, Breanna Nolen, Carmen Corbin and her husband Donald, Robin Johnson and her husband Lewis, Janice Lawson and her husband Raymond and Howard Jones, Jr. He is further survived by Art, Joe, Jim, Sonia, Sandra, Julio, Rosa, Maria and Carmen, all of Erie, who were like children to him.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by two sisters Janet Jones, Patricia Hoyd and wife Sherry Nolen.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday from 11-12 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where Home Going Service will be held at 12:00 PM with Rev. Gary Manning officiating.
Joseph will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery with Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006.
