Joseph Keba

Joseph Keba, 83, of 18522 Grange Center Rd., Saegertown, passed away Friday, September 19, 2014, at home.

The youngest of eleven children, Joseph was born in Derry, on April 3, 1931, a son of the late George and Elizabeth (Tkach) Keba.

On August 13, 1966 Joseph married Mary Agnes Kuba; she preceded him in death on August 16, 2012.

He was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.

After 37 years of service, Joseph retired on July 7, 1996 from Penncrest School District where he taught in the Business Department of Saegertown High School. He was a graduate of the former Indiana State Teacher College. Joseph entered the US Army on October 16, 1952 and served his country until his honorable discharge on September 22, 1954. His hobbies included gardening and building model ships. He loved spending time with his family, especially his three grandsons.

Joseph is survived by a daughter Maria Keba Weiss and her husband Arnold of Leesburg, VA, three grandsons Eric, Kevin and Ethan Weiss of Leesburg, VA, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Mary of 46 years, Joseph was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville, at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 26, 2014, with Fr. Matthew Kujawinski, Pastor, officiating.

Following Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006, Joseph will be laid to rest next to his wife, Mary, in Saegertown Cemetery, Hayfield Twp.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
