Joseph P. Boyle

Joseph P. Boyle, 87, of 1018 South Main St., Apt. B., Meadville, formerly of 390 Chestnut St., Apt. 3, Meadville, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at Golden Living Western Reserve, Erie.

Joseph was born in Bakerston, on October 1, 1927, a son of the late Arthur and Rose (Quinn) Boyle.

On August 19, 1997 Joseph married Joan K. Olson; she preceded him in death on September 4, 2014.

He was an active member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, Meadville, where took great pride in his 20 years of service as a church sacristist and Altar Server.

He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II.

Joseph is survived by two sisters Betty Mae Wall of Medford, OR, Rose Rita Slovich of Erie, many nieces and nephews that loved him including Rose Ann Provost and her husband Art of Fairview.

In addition to his parents and his wife Joan, Joseph was preceded in death by four brothers James, John, Frederick and George Boyle, four sisters Patricia Boyle, Anastisia Boyle, Matilda Pitera and Kathryn Davis.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, January 19, 2015, from 9:30-10:30 AM at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 19th, 2015, with Fr. Johnathan Schmolt, Pastor, officiating.

Following Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006, Joseph will be laid to rest with his wife, Joan, in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
