Josephine Cervone

Josephine Cervone, 89, of 596 Laird Ave., Meadville, passed away Tuesday, February 14th, 2012, at Wesbury United Methodist Community.
Josephine was born in Meadville on July 16, 1922, a daughter of the late Frank and Lena (Trozzi) Mangino.
On Oct. 6, 1956 Josephine married John Cervone; he preceded her in death on June 4, 1999.
She was a lifelong member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, Meadville, where she was involved with the Care and Concern Ministry and co-chaired the annual Stewardship Appeal with her husband, John, for seven years. She also volunteered her time with the Soup Kitchen.
Josephine retired from the offices of Orthopedic Associates of Meadville after 15 years of service. She previously had been employed by the former Crawford Store for 27 years and Warren Smith Motors for five years. She was a graduate of Meadville High School.
Josephine is survived by five sisters Angie M. Mangino of Meadville, Joan Baiera of Meadville, Betty Bailey and her husband Donald of FL, Terry Guzzo and her husband John of Dubois, Rose Frisina and her husband Anthony of Meadville, a brother Ralph Mangino and his wife Madeline of Meadville, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, John, of 42 years, Josephine was preceded in death by two sisters Florence Wildrick, Louise Surano and a brother Michael Mangino.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 3-7 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a scripture service will be conducted at 6:30 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 17, 2012, at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, with Fr. Marc Solomon. Pastor, officiating.
Entombment will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
