Josephine "Josie" M. Passarelli

Josephine "Josie" M. Passarelli, 69, of Moon Township, PA, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Sewickley Valley Hospital.

Josie was born in Meadville, PA, on January 4, 1953, daughter of the late John C. and Teresa (Costa) Capozzi.

On July 10, 1993 Josie married Francesco "Frank" Passarelli; he survives.

She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Parish, Moon Township, PA, and while growing up in Meadville, PA, she was a member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church.

Josie attended the former St. Brigid Catholic School before graduating from Meadville High School as a proud Meadville Bulldog. She furthered her education by graduating from the University of Pittsburgh in 1974 with a BA Degree in the Romance Languages of Italian and Spanish. For many years she was employed as an executive secretary. Josie's passion in life was "famiglia". Her deep commitment to them was second nature and she excelled at caring for them. Her top three priorities in life were family, family, and family. Josie will be sadly missed, but will live on in our hearts and minds.

In addition to her husband, Frank, of 29 years, Josie is survived by four children Robert (Megan) of Chicago, IL, Anthony (Brandy) of Ashburn, VA, Jayson of Pittsburgh, PA, Christy of Toronto, Canada; five beloved grandchildren Edie, Sam, Jayson Jr., Logan, Ariana, and baby Enzo on the way; a brother John F. Capozzi (Leslie) of Fredericksburg, VA; a nephew Mychal; and a niece Claire.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 3-7 PM on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, PA, where a Scripture Service will be held at 6:30 PM.

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at The Epiphany of the Lord Parish, St. Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, PA, with Fr. Jeff Lucas, Pastor, officiating.

Josie will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Josie's name to Lung Cancer Foundation of America, 15 S. Franklin St., New Ulm, MN 56073.
