Joyce A. Powell

Joyce A. Powell, 76, of Meadville, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Meadville Medical Center, with her family by her side. 

Joyce was born in Meadville, on July 3, 1948, a daughter of the late Melvin and Faye (Seley) Powell, Sr.

She was an active member of Wayland Baptist Church where she was baptized and had served as a Deaconess .

Joyce retired from the Shipping and Receiving Department of Leech Industry. She had previously been employed by the former Talon, Inc. She was a graduate of Saegertown High School and was a member of Saegertown American Legion Post #205 Auxiliary. She was an avid BINGO player and enjoyed going to the casinos. A huge fan of the Cleveland Browns, Joyce also enjoyed following the NFL. Her large family was very important to her; she cared for her siblings as though they were her own children. Joyce will be remembered as a beautiful person inside and out and will be sadly missed. 

Joyce is survived by siblings Evelyn, Helen, Peggy, Sharon, Linda, Dick; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by siblings Beverly, Donald, Melvin, and Bob.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a future date, which will be announced.

Joyce will be laid to rest in Venango Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be made in Joyce's memory to Wayland Baptist Church, 11603 S. Wayland Rd., or Kerrtown Community Center, 18834 Hope St., both in Meadville, PA 16335.
