Judy L. Laird

Judy L. Laird, 81, of Meadville, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024, at home.

Judy was born in Meadville, on June 10, 1943, a daughter of the late George and Jeanne (Bowen) Knox.

On June 16, 1962 Judy married George Laird, Jr.

She was an active member of Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer where she had served as Deaconess. 

After 23 years of service, Judy retired from Crawford Central School District as a building secretary. She was a 1961 graduate of Meadville High School. Judy was a member of VFW Post #2006 auxiliary and in her younger years, she served as a Girl Scout Leader. Time spent traveling and going to hunting camp with family gave her much joy. She loved her beagle dogs, especially Meg. Judy will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. 

Judy is survived by three children Bryon G. Laird (Cathey) of MD, Graig Laird of Meadville, Lynn M. Laird-Wilson (Jeffrey), of NC; seven grandchildren Patricia, Joel, Amber, Kayla, Tabitha, Jessica, Alex; five great grandchildren Brantley, Maverick, Adalaide, Oswin, Brynnli; two brothers Gary Knox (Pam) of Guys Mills, Richard Knox (Joan) of Meadville; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, and husband George, Judy was preceded in death by a sister Cheryl Knox.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer, 16864 Conneaut Lake Rd., Meadville, with Rev. Dr. Timothy Solomon officiating.

Judy will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery.
